Synopsis
À TOMBEAUX OUVERTS is a feature-length documentary directed by Gaël Métroz and produced by EPYC Films. Filmed over the course of an eight-year immersion, the film follows racing driver Roger Rey, who competed alongside Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Jo Siffert, Graham Hill and Stirling Moss. After the death of his son Alain, he devotes himself to his wife Marylou. Thirty years later, Marylou asks him to get back behind the wheel.
Just as Roger rediscovers the thrill of speed and reunites with his friends, Marylou is admitted to hospital. On her deathbed, she makes him promise to enter one final European race in her honour. But Roger is 84 and his car is 40... Together with his mechanic, Roger embarks on a wildly unconventional swan song that becomes much more than a motor-racing adventure: a tribute to love, friendship and his untamed will to live.
